Bak to the First Loves

The Beatles said it best: "Get back to where you once belonged." And oh, how right they were.

Stemming from a desperately needed website redesign for the new year, I opted to go back to one of my first font loves: Helvetica Neue. One might think this to be relatively insignificant in the grand scheme of life, but for me, it meant something different. It shifted a return to my roots. A slight naivety, peppered with a little guff and pinch of rebellion fueled my design process in the beginning. Now, with more knowledge in the field of art and design, it's the time to remember this not-so-distant past and push forward.

I've tried conforming long enough.

Take whatever life lesson you want. That's all you get.

I'm back.

Organizing the new year.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have discovered Evernote.

My life may never be the same.

In other news, I've taken to paper journaling again for the first time in probably 16 years. Best decision ever. Feels good just to write because I WANT to write and not because I'm forced to. It also helps me organize my thoughts from the day and focus on the good things.

I started listing 5 things I'm grateful for every day as well. Anytime the thought may creep in that my life sucks because of something stupid I've done in my past, that list brings me back to reality to realize how blessed I truly am.

I'm far from perfect. And I accept that now. Just like I accept His forgiveness and Grace on a daily basis.
